Protan Roof
challenge
After working on several projects with the Sovini Group over the past couple of years, AAC Flat Roofing successfully tendered for the flat roofing work on the new build of 46 affordable and attractive apartments in Birkenhead.
The apartments will benefit from communal amenity space and good access to public transport.
our approach
The 1200 Sqm roof is installed with a vapour control layer that is loose laid over the timber deck and insulated with 140mm thick foil-faced insulation that is mechanically fixed.
We identified the PVC membrane Protan as the ideal solution due to the fantastic finish it provides with the standing seam as some parts of the membrane will be visible from the street.
the result
Upon completion, our work was independently verified by an electronic integrity test and the Membrane manufacturer.
The project was provided with a 20-year warranty. It was also nominated for the best detailing award at the SPRA (Single Ply Roofing Association) annual awards.
